I’ve spent my career straddling marketing, editorial, and product roles. I’ve edited award-winning features, organized commercial revenue operations, launched multiple websites, and built high-performing teams.

Director of Growth and Innovation (2020-2022)

I spent two years at Grist leading our audience, product, branding, and partnership efforts. I built and managed a team of designers, developers, audience journalists, and partnership specialists.

I spearheaded a comprehensive rebrand of the site: navigating stakeholder requirements, representing readers, and ensuring usability and design were at the forefront. The new brand directly led to new funding and helped us win several awards, including Online Journalism Award for General Excellence, a Webby honorable mention, and Society of Publication Designers website of the year.

During my time at Grist, we enjoyed our largest audience in the history of the organization. And we also built loyalty, with core brand lovers up 7% year over year and engagement time up over 50%.

Co-Director and Head of Digital (2012-2020)

I oversaw digital content, audience growth, and earned revenue for a nationally broadcast, award winning public radio show with 1.8 million weekly listeners and over a million social media followers.

I analyzed audience data, developing and implementing strategies that led to a 100% increase in website visitors, 500% increase in newsletter subscribers, and 125% increase in podcast downloads. I managed all media outreach and strategic partnerships and supervised staff and consultants.

Under my leadership we won multiple awards, including a Shorty Award, Webby Award, Jackson Hole Science Media Award, W3 Award, and a Pixel Prize.

Manager of Marketing and Communications (2008-2012)

I managed digital, outdoor, print, and radio advertising campaigns, including administering $2 million annual advertising budget, reviewing and approving initial concepts and final creative content, maintaining vendor relationships, and initiating new vendor contacts. I directed search engine optimization, search engine marketing, and social media strategies. I implemented a strategic content marketing plan, that led to a 10% increase in engaged web users. I edited and produced a twice-monthly email newsletter to 90,000 subscribers. I supervised staff and freelancers.
